Professional Goals:
Kent State Universityhas just added the full-time position to coordinate the ASL/English Interpreting Program. This is due to the growth of the program. Within a few years it has burgeoned from 15 students to over 60! After the interview process, I was chosen for this position. Here are a few goals that I have for the program in years to come:
-
That the numbers of students in our major would continue to grow
-
That our numbers would necessitate the hiring of more full-time faculty members
-
That all of our faculty would began and complete their quest for a Ph.D.
-
That we would be successful in our attempt to get accreditation from CCIE (Commission on Collegiate Interpreter Education) within the next 5-7 years
-
That we would remain current in our field and provide students a current curriculum
-
That we would be mindful of our students' investment into our program and provide them a good return on investment
Personal Goals:
-
That I will begin researching the concepts of passive voice and "grit"
-
That I will begin my publishing career
-
That I will get on the tenure track
-
That I will explore the idea of being a department chair or assistant dean
